It all began in 2025 in Australia, during the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Lorne.
I had traveled to Australia to take part in this major cycling event. At the championship expo, Dopamine Lab VO2X nasal strips caught my eye. I decided to buy them and try them for myself.
I liked the strips, so I used them sparingly, trying to make my supply last as long as possible. But summer arrived, and my supply gradually began to run out.
I decided to contact the manufacturer to find out whether I could order the strips and have them shipped to Latvia. That was when I discovered something unexpected: VO2X strips were not yet available in Europe as I had hoped.
Then I had an idea: if I had found a product I wanted to use and had discovered it at an international sporting event, why not bring it to Latvia? Not just for myself, but for other athletes and anyone else who might find it useful.
What began as a simple wish to replenish my supply gradually grew into a much bigger idea: to introduce VO2X to the Latvian market and then look further afield, toward other European countries.
Of course, there was a long road between the idea and making it a reality. I had to communicate with the supplier in Australia, arrange the order and international shipping, handle import and customs formalities, and take care of the business side of things. Every step took time, patience, and determination.
That is how SIA Breaths Easy and Dopamine Lab Baltics came to be, with the aim of making VO2X nasal strips available to Latvian athletes and anyone interested in supporting nasal breathing during sports, sleep, and everyday life.
This story is special to me because it did not begin with a business plan or a desire simply to sell a product. It began with personal experience, sport, and a chance discovery at a world championship expo in Australia.
Sometimes one small discovery is enough to spark an idea that takes you much further than you could have imagined at first.
From Lorne, Australia, to Latvia. From a personal purchase to a business idea. And from Latvia, with an eye on the wider European market.
That is how VO2X nasal strips found their way to Latvia. And this is only the beginning!
